The World Honored One is in the Universal Light Palace, surrounded by innumerable Bodhisattvas. The Bodhisattvas reverently anticipate the opportunity to hear the Dharma. The Buddha, knowing what was in their minds, manifested spiritual powers.

Manjushri Bodhisattva Mahasattva and countless Bodhisattvas arrive. Leaders from the other nine directions are present as well.Manjushri Bodhisattva receives the Buddha’s awesome power and speaks the names of the Thus Come Ones.

Annotation
It is very uplifting and illuminating to read the names of Buddhas because they contain inexpressible meanings and wonderful words. Just listening to their names and reciting their names bring inconceivable benefits because of the supremely magnanimous vow-power of the Buddhas. The three Buddhas who have the deepest affinities with the living beings on earth are,

Shakyamuni Buddha,
Amitabha Buddha, and
Medicine Master Buddha.

The innumerable names of all Buddhas have been reduced to the ten titles:

1.   Thus Come One
2.   One Worthy of Offerings
3.  One of Proper and Universal Knowledge
4.  One of Perfect Clarity and Conduct
5.   Well-Gone One
6.   Unsurpassed Knight Who Understands the World
7.   A Hero Who Subdues and Tames
8.   Teacher of Gods and People
9.   Buddha
10.  World Honored One
